Finally, a movie podcast that takes place in a car!
Pete and Trevor are movie fans with nothing better to do. Come along with us on our drive to and from the ...
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl / Aardman Shorts 1990-1995
Pete and Trevor sat at home with a pot of tea, some crackers, and of course CHEESE (and yes, it was Yorkshire Wensleydale), and watched Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Nick Park is back, along with Merlin Crossingham, directing only the second W&G feature film. Listen to the podcast to hear our immediate reactions to the film (giving plenty of warning before getting into spoilers). This is also week two of our ongoing project to watch every Aardman feature and short film. As luck would have it, we watched the Aardman Shorts from 1990-1995, which included ‘A Close Shave’, and ‘The Wrong Trousers’, featuring that dastardly nefarious penguin Feathers McGraw. We encourage everyone to watch along with us and check in each episode for our dedicated Aardman segment. Go to https://boxd.it/BQYVu for the watchlist for January. Next week we will be discussing Aardman’s first feature length film ‘Chicken Run’. Nosferatu / Aardman Shorts 1977-1990
Pete and Trevor drove right into the open arms of death itself, and its name is Nosferatu (not Dracula). Robert Eggers has had an incredible start to his directing career, but Nosferatu was the movie he was born to make. Starring Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, with Bill Skarsgård as the gross old vampire himself, Nosferatu is a triumph of atmosphere, cinematography, and performance. Listen to the podcast to hear our immediate reactions to the film after leaving the theatre (giving plenty of warning before getting into spoilers). This month includes the start of our ongoing project to watch every Aardman feature and short film. We encourage everyone to watch along with us and check in each episode for our dedicated Aardman segment. Go to https://boxd.it/BQYVu for the watchlist for January. Next week is the new Wallace and Gromit movie ‘Vengeance Most Fowl’ along with the Aardman shorts from 1990-1995, including ‘The Wrong Trousers’. Interstellar in 70mm IMAX
Pete and Trevor saw Interstellar in glorious 70mm IMAX (and it was incredible!) We met up with IMAX expert Anthony to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Christopher Nolan’s under-appreciated sci-fi epic. Listen in for our immediate reactions after leaving the theatre, our thoughts on Nolan’s filmography, and how the 70mm IMAX experience changed our perception of the movie.Intro (0:00)Anthony’s IMAX Corner (2:05)Our history with Christopher Nolan and Interstellar (4:01)Review of Interstellar in 70mm IMAX (36:16)Pee Report (54:50)Spoiler talk (including processing the concept of relativity) (56:45)Thanks again to Anthony for guesting on the pod. Conclave
Hello all you cardinals, archbishops, and wannabe popes, you need to check out Conclave, Edward Berger’s much anticipated follow up to All Quiet on the Western Front. Pete and Trevor watched from the comfort of a basement couch, and in addition to giving their immediate reactions to the film, discussed which actors are overdue for an academy award (which include the stacked cast of Conclave — Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini).
Finally, a movie podcast that takes place in a car!
Pete and Trevor are movie fans with nothing better to do. Come along with us on our drive to and from the cinema. On the drive there, we’ll be discussing general background on the movie and talk about our expectations. On the drive back again, you will hear spoiler talk about our first impressions of the movie having just exited the theatre.
Will we see a “stone-cold masterpiece”? Will we see a stinker to end all stinkers? Will we run into traffic and miss the trailers? We’ll answer all these questions and more!
