"Santosh" had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section, where it received positive reviews for its story, direction, and lead performance from Shahana Goswami as a 28-year-old widow who takes her late husband's job as a police officer and has to investigate the case of a young girl's murder. The film has been selected as the UK's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. "Dune: Part Two" was one of 2024's biggest films critically, financially, and now, awards-wise, as it's on a similar run as the first film was in 2021 through early 2022.
